tipoff — Help
Get the most out of tipoff
Short, practical guides for everything from your first sign-in to your monthly reports.
01
Getting started
- Enter your phone number and verify it with the SMS code.
- Set a 4-digit MPIN — you’ll enter this to unlock tipoff every time after your first sign-in.
- tipoff creates a default "Business" profile for you automatically; add more from the Home screen whenever you need them.
02
Adding a customer
- Tap + on the Home screen or from a customer list.
- Type a new customer’s name, or pick one straight from your phone’s contacts.
- Add them to as many profiles as you like — each profile tracks that customer’s balance independently.
03
Recording a credit or debit
- Open a customer and tap +.
- Choose Credit (money you’ve received) or Debit (money they owe you), enter the amount and a due date, then save.
- A new Credit can automatically settle a matching outstanding Debit, so your totals stay accurate without extra work.
04
Setting reminders
- While adding or editing a transaction, open Reminders.
- Pick specific dates manually, or turn on a recurring schedule — Daily, Weekly, Biweekly or Monthly — up to the due date.
- Debit reminders reach the customer on WhatsApp, in their language. Credit reminders stay private — a notification on your own phone.
05
Reading your reports
- Open Reports from any profile.
- See your balance, average transaction size, and Credit-to-Debit ratio at a glance.
- Scroll down for cash-flow trend and weekly/monthly charts, a Credit-vs-Debit breakdown, and a Cash Flow Health score.
06
Switching language & currency
- Open Edit Profile from the drawer.
- Set your Preferred Language (56 available) and Preferred Currency (36 available).
- tipoff updates across the whole app immediately.
07
Managing & deleting your account
- Your MPIN keeps tipoff locked even if someone else has your phone.
- To leave, open Delete Account from the drawer or Profile page.
- This permanently removes every profile, customer, transaction and preference tied to your account — it can’t be undone.
